Hourly Conference Room for 12
Came here for a work conference. This space may work better as an evening event space but for a daytime sit down conference it was not ideal for many reasons. Pros -Right next to the metro -Lots of natural light despite being a bit underground -Spacious -Bright/nice decor -Responsive staff Cons -Lots of white noise from AC/ventilation makes it really hard to hear from back of the room, even with microphones -Plastic chairs are brightly colored and cute but not comfortable; people began to fidget and zone out -Only water comes from the fridge dispenser but with a conference of 70 people it takes forever to fill your cup and it distracting while speakers are talking -Noise in kitchen reverberates in meeting area of room so you hear - trash bags being replaced, food being set-up/taken down, etc -Hearing heels walk across the bare floors all day long -Not enough power outlets. There are three spots in the floor with 4 outlets but that's not really enough for everyone. If you do a meeting event I wouldn't do it with a group our size. Maybe close off the room and move everyone closer together so the sound issues are minimized. I can see this being nice as a reception space since you have music to minimize the noise issues and you don't have to power a few dozen laptops.
